  1. The debut album from Ours, a little New Jersey band that’s just dying to be heard over the calamity of today’s new music, came out in and I can still remember where I was and what I was thinking when I first laid eyes on Jimmy Gnecco, the lead singer and man behind the whole operation.
  2. Ours followed up their exceptional Distorted Lullabies album with Precious, another very solid release. You get a little bit more variety with this CD than Distorted Lullabies, but it comes with mixed results. Precious contains some of Ours' best work with songs like "Kill the Band", "Realize" and the single "Leaves", but the lead singer Jimmy Gnecco goes into more unprovoked wailing fits in.
  3. Ours frontman Jimmy Gnecco mentored under Jeff Buckley, and the similarities between the two are uncanny on his band's debut album, Distored Lullabies.
  4. Ours. Distorted Lullabies (DreamWorks) Imagine, if you will, the following scenario: Take the musical sounds of rock bands like Fuel and Lit, add in the voice of U2 lead singer Bono, and then make.
  5. Get all the lyrics to songs on Distorted Lullabies and join the Genius community of music scholars to learn the meaning behind the lyrics.
  6. Sep 20,  · Distorted Lullabies is built around two stone-cold classics in "Sometimes" and "Dizzy", both of which are required listening for any serious fan of artier alternative rock. The rest of the album is consistently nice, but there's a tragic sameness here that prevents me from going any higher than a star rating for the entire record/5(17).
  7. I just ADORE this CD and there isn't a track on it that you will want to skip over. On the first play I was a little unsure, but since then I have played it over and over and love it more and more. My only criticism of Distorted Lullabies is that it is a bit too slickly produced for my taste. I prefer a little more rawness - especially in a /5().
